The Egyptian Federation for Development Policies and Social Protection is a central, non-governmental, and non-profit Egyptian organization operating under Egyptian Law No. 5232 of 2014. Its mission is to provide a comprehensive package of services, programs, and projects related to social protection, aimed at improving the quality of life for Egyptian citizens of all ages. The Federation's work is consistently enhanced through collaboration with a wide network of partners, including ministries and international, national, and local NGOs, reflecting a belief in the urgent need for collective action and cooperation for development. To this end, the Federation has established a social protection network comprised of 64 NGOs representing the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Federation also strives to support civil society organizations in engaging in local and regional networks and alliances that amplify the value of efforts by civil society, government, and the private sector. Furthermore, it works to train NGOs and institutions to integrate social protection concepts into their development programs, based on the understanding that social protection is a developmental philosophy, not merely a temporary measure. The Egyptian Union for Development and Social Protection Policies has been granted consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Vision: To create safe Egyptian communities under a strong social protection umbrella. Mission: The Egyptian Union for Development and Social Protection Policies seeks to support civil society organizations in adopting social protection concepts and practices within their programs, ensuring integration with the state's efforts to achieve a stable society and a dignified life for its citizens. This is accomplished through conducting studies and research and implementing development projects. Values: Justice and equity, inclusivity, comprehensive development, equality and non-discrimination, governance, transparency, cooperation and participation, sustainability, environmental protection, and a balance between justice and development. Through its research arm, the Strategic Forum for Public Policy and Development Studies (Diraya), the Union aims to publish comprehensive research papers and studies to analyze issues and achieve a deep understanding of local, regional, and international issues. The Union also works through its Volunteer Bank to implement its development projects via a network of volunteers throughout the country.
