The key to success will be the ability to adapt and learn new skills, and to approach education and training in a new and innovative way. 4 Biography Prof. Hossam Badrawi earned his Bachelor of Science with honors from Kasr El-Aini School of Medicine in 1974 and pursued his doctorate at Cairo University and Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. His doctoral research focused on the use of the scanning electron microscope in studying human endometrium. He furthered his studies at Northwestern University in Chicago and later at Boston University in education reform. Dr. Badrawi has an extensive academic and professional portfolio, having published over 120 scientific papers and 7 books in his field of expertise. Among his well-known works are Education: The Opportunity for Salvation, Dialogues with Youth for a New Republic, At Tomorrow’s Dreamers Café, and Me & The Memes. His literary interests also extend to fiction, with books like The Chimera and Who Am I?, as well as an art collection titled Forgotten Romances. His influence extends into public policy and civil society, having served as a board member of Egypt’s first National Council for Human Rights. He also founded and chaired the National Egyptian Competitive Council and the Badrawi Foundation for Education and Development. In healthcare, he played a transformative role by establishing the Nile Badrawi Hospital in 1985 and Egypt’s first HMO, Medicare Insurance Co., in 1989. Dr. Badrawi’s contributions have earned him international recognition, including an honorary PhD from Sunderland University (2007) and an honorary fellowship from Cardiff Metropolitan University (2014). He continues to advocate for institutional reforms in education, healthcare, and cultural development, emphasizing the role of knowledge and reason in shaping the future. In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Badrawi is a passionate supporter of youth empowerment, women's rights, and cultural enrichment, actively engaging in various NGOs and advisory boards. His political vision is reflected in his speeches, including at the National Dialogue Conference, and his regular writings.
