Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Aty is Chair of the National Committee for Artificial Intelligence. He also serves as President of the Arab Impact Factor, Vice President of the African Mathematical Union, Vice President of the Egyptian Mathematical Society, and Dean of the Arab Open University for Scientific Research and Graduate Studies in Bahrain. Previously, he held the position of Vice President of the African Academy of Sciences and served as Dean of Research at the Applied Science University in Bahrain. He earned his PhD in Quantum Computing from the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Germany in 1999. In recognition of his substantial scientific contributions, he was awarded the Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree in 2007 and the Honorary Doctor of Science (H.D.Sc.)
degree in 2024. His research interests include artificial intelligence, quantum computing, neural networks, and quantum information transmission security models. Professor Abdel-Aty has an extensive publication record, with more than 350 research papers, 19 book chapters, and four books in the field of artificial intelligence. He also holds several patents, including U.S. Patent Nos.11,093,850 B1 and 11,093,850 B2. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including the State Appreciation Award, the State Excellence Award, the State Encouragement Award, the Chen Shu-Shao Award (China), the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award (Jordan), and the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Award (United Arab Emirates), among others.
