Eminence the Grand Imam

His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed El-Tayeb, was born in 1946 in the village of Al-Qurna, Luxor Governorate, in the Arab Republic of Egypt. He enrolled at Al-Azhar University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Creed and Philosophy in 1969, followed by a Master’s degree in 1971 and a Ph.D. in 1977. He has served as the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar since March 19, 2010, bearing the title “The Grand Imam.” Throughout his academic career, he has taught at several prominent institutions, including Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, Qatar University, United Arab Emirates University, and International Islamic University Islamabad.
Professor Ahmed Mohamed El-Tayeb is a distinguished scholar who combines the qualities of a dedicated researcher and an academic professor specializing in philosophy, having studied its foundations in France. He is widely recognized for his rigorous scholarly research and his effective teaching methodology across various Arab universities.
